A red warning light on your perfect prep machine will indicate when the filter needs to be replaced; please change the filter as soon as this is indicated for your child's safety and health. We only recommend you use Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep Replacement Filters in the Perfect Prep machine. The filter may look a lot like other water filters but inside is a unique filtration membrane designed to remove impurities and contaminants. Most standard water filters do not include an anti-bacterial filtration membrane so will NOT remove bacteria. It is therefore extremely important to ensure that you are buying and using the correct Tommee Tippee anti-bacterial filter. Unique Filtration Membrane: Inside each Perfect Prep Filter there is a unique filtration membrane which removes bacteria and other contaminants that can be found in water Take a look at the image below for more information on why the Perfect Prep Filter is the best for use in the Perfect Prep™ machine. With the water hopper in place (but not the filter) fill the hopper with 1 litre of freshly boiled hot water.

Pop a container under the dispenser outlet to capture the water used to clean the system (ideally at least 1 litre capacity). The empty warning light should be off. The hot light should be on.Clean the external machine surface with a clean cloth (it is advisable to use an antibacterial solution), taking care to clean in all grooves and under the dispenser spout.

At this time the lid, hopper and bottle stand should also be cleaned using hot soapy water, rinsed thoroughly, and allowed to dry naturally (do not use cloths or tea towels to dry). Small particles of carbon may be in the bag or on the surface of your filter. These dust particles are harmless and will be reduced during the initial set up process when submerging in clean fresh water.
