Of course, I'm still much more powerful than they are, but if they keep multiplying their strength, then who knows what they might be capable of in the future. Furthermore, going this route probably makes more financial sense for Funimation - Instead of having to re-scan the entire series from the 16mm source and perform nitpicky cleanup from there, they can work with existing material already in their possession and let computers do most of the work. Overall the scripted dialogue is pretty similar, but I find the FUNi re-dub to be slightly less wordy and thus more effective overall.

The conclusion of this collection of episodes works as the pace speeds up, the action hots up, and more importantly the star of the show Goku actually gets to Namek and makes an impact. These three are strong enough to defeat Frieza's weaker henchmen, so the evil tyrant sends one of his best fighters, Dodoria, after them. As nice of an idea as Dragon Ball Z Kai was (with the 'no filler' technique and all), I personally feel it took away one of the greatest strengths from the series as a whole - The sagas all made use of the (very) slow burn technique, but that's what made many of the big reveals such a big payoff. Gohan, Krillin and Dende hide from Vegeta; Vegeta locates and challenges Frieza's elite henchman, Zarbon. He also is the toughest villain we’ve seen so far, actually able to outwit and outfight Goku down to his strength and psychic abilities. And I wouldn't intend to escape with it either, because if you tried something like that, the sniveling girl behind you would suffer the consequences. Meanwhile, finding himself no match for Goku's superior abilities, Captain Ginyu unleashes his ultimate attack. Given that this is only the second collection of episodes, it’s a little early for a reviewer to be jaded so, but suffice it to say that I was already skipping the credit sequences, and fast forwarding past the previous episode recaps (no convenient chaptering here). Being a prince and as talented in battle as you are, Frieza thought you still might be useful to us.

As a result, the battles this time around are more for fun than anything, because they add nothing significant to the overall plot.

As the bout between Captain Ginyu and Vegeta heats up, Goku summons the last of his strength and tricks his foe into reversing the Body Switch Technique. Released by Funimation, this series includes the seasons of Dragon Ball Z with the original Shunsuke Kikuchi soundtrack, the Nathan Johnson soundtrack and the Bruce Faulconer soundtrack in Blu-ray format, being released for the first time with the original music intact and without any altering to the uncut footage while in Blu-ray format. If there is a problem with any of the discs during these 5 or so minutes per episode, I won’t know about it.
