When Kojima pulled the rug out from under our feet by replacing Solid Snake with androgynous pretty-boy Raiden after MGS2's opening chapter, it set the tone for a series that continues to defy expectations. They mention that the games look quite good, have a steady frame rate, and are perfectly redesigned and remastered in glorious HD. The manual for Metal Gear Solid 3 also covers Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2, and includes the tap code chart for the latter. However, newcomers should be warned: Because the package doesn’t have the original Metal Gear Solid or Portable Ops, substantial parts of the story are not included.

Curiously, neither MGS3 nor Peace Walker actually stars series protagonist Solid Snake, and even MGS2 soon turns the spotlight off him. I've got this trilogy game for MGS02 and MGS03 which are great for those who have played the PS02 versions. That’s more nit-picking than a genuine complaint, since the HD Collection is a superb way to satisfy your nostalgia and relive key moments in the Metal Gear saga.HD remasters of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. What I love about this game, which bugs me in MGS2/MGS3, is the shooting style (over-the-shoulder and you can aim whilst shooting, rather than stopping and shooting in First-Person View) and how you can crouch-walk. It was supposed to be a PS3 exclusive and was to include all the content and features of the regular version, plus a steelbook, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, a product code for downloading the Game Archives version of the original Metal Gear Solid and five art cards.

Instead of consisting of a linear adventure where you occasionally find new weapons and tools as you progress, story and side missions are selected from a menu. And much like that 1989 cult classic, in Metal Gear Solid, it's never clear when the creators are in on the joke. I can’t say that Konami didn’t include enough content, but the choice to include these particular games (instead of splitting all seven games into separate Big Boss and Solid Snake collections, for example) eliminates the sense of completeness that often comes from compilations.Since the health of the player for the subsequent fight against Solidus Snake is carried over on the Extreme difficulties, said battle is significantly easier as a result. The collection was revealed alongside the Transfarring system, Zone of the Enders: HD Collection and the Fox Engine.
