I’m not entirely sure what they mean by a ‘growing season’ so I’m going to assume that’s a whole spring and summer – so in effect it wipes out a year from your growing space. To carry out my test, I chose two similar patches of weeds and treated one with Job done® Tough Ready to Use Weedkiller, and the other with the competitor product. To keep things as fair as possible, I chose patches that were close together and therefore in similar conditions, followed the instructions on each product, and treated both patches on the same day. You may have seen my recent post on weed control, which shared my top tips for helping you manage pesky garden weeds. One of my tips was to use a weedkiller product to deal with tough, problem weeds, and I used Job done® Tough Ready to Use Weedkiller, which proved to be very effective. In this post, I’m going to put this product to the test against a leading competitor, to see how well it performs. It’s very easy to apply. The ‘flexi spray’ clips out of the bottle body and the pipe clips into the open lid where it screws on. Be sure to pull all of the hose from the spray head so it reaches the bottom of the container.

This last pair of pictures was taken over three weeks after application, and I think it’s fair to say that some of the weeds in the competitor patch have survived, and will need a second application to finish them off. On the other hand, the weeds in the Job done ® patch were completely gone within a couple of weeks. It’s formulated to work fast and deliver long-lasting protection, preventing new weed growth for up to three months. Here’s a big downside. You can’t use it in areas where you want to grow things because it takes a ‘growing season’ to wear off. Liquid emerges after a few pumps, but on the downside, each pump sprays very little weedkiller so I soon had hand ache. Also, you have to get quite close to the weed to make sure liquid covers the foliage. I’d say this is best for small areas and occasional weeds rather than treating a big area.Do you have trouble defeating the toughest weeds? Well, nothing kills tough weeds fast and prevents weed regrowth for longer than Job done Tough Weedkiller. After eighteen days, you can see that the weeds are definitely struggling in the competitor patch, but they’re still not dead. It’s quite hard to spot what’s left of the weeds in the Job done ® patch.
