I wanted to love this book. I really did. But it just fell so flat for me. I didn’t like James’ book but then LOVED Cooper’s so I came in with hopes that Sebastian’s book would go along with the momentum of the previous book. It did not. For a few reasons: This was such a fun new adult, sports romance! With fake dating, football star and a college romance, this was right up my alley. First Down was my first book I’ve read by this author, but it won’t be my last!

As for the drama that pushed the narrative along, well, I could take or leave some of it, but for the most part I liked that Bex and James stayed true to themselves, facing most of their trials and tribulations together as a unit… even when I didn’t quite agree with their behaviour or decisions. I haven’t connected with a character like I did with Mia in a long time and she will hold a special place in my heart🤍 seb and mia were friends with bennies but he wanted to take things to a more serious level and had just gotten her to agree to a date when his brother walked in on them *together* and she got spooked. when they’re both at school for the summer and her dorm gets flooded, seb offers her a place to stay and the forced proximity re-ignites old feelings. Together they were just pure perfection 🥹 they help each other find their own courage and they both went through such growth, individually and as a couple. I just wanna wrap them both up in bubble wrap and keep them protected from the world, sweet babies. I hated the FMC before I found out she was bisexual, but when I found out she was bisexual, I hated the author.

Sebastian was honestly pretty flawless. He was an amazing book boyfriend. He was persistent, honest, he wasn’t annoyingly possessive, super sexy and spicy, supportive. He def fell first and harder. All around great guy caught between his dead fathers shadow and forging his own path. I love how Mia inadvertently inspired him to follow his dreams and choose himself, but that’s pretty much all she did & it wasn’t a conscious choice. First of all, thank you Grace for trusting me to read your book while you wrote it. (Yes, I read this book multiple times LOL) Girlfriend, you are something else! I’m so glad to connect with you through bookstagram. As a bisexual woman, I love all different types of bisexual representation. What I don’t like, is when an author’s ONLY bisexual female main character in the series (and possibly in the author’s entire body of work) is a walking hypersexual trope that will have sex with everyone and still has sex with anybody and everybody under the sun AFTER starting something with their destined partner (the MMC in this case). Also, it’s a problem when (if I remember correctly) the only hypersexual, commitment-phobe, female main character from the author is bisexual. Sparkling prose and delicious tension . . . Grace Reilly is the queen of sports romance!' STEPHANIE ARCHER It’s my final season to prove myself before the MLB Draft. The last thing I need is a distraction–and especially not one as tantalizing as Mia di Angelo.

I also hate it when in romance books a person breaks up with the other because they think the other person deserves better. Maybe let the other person decide and make the decision for the themself? Or be better yourself? Sparkling prose and delicious tension . . . Grace Reilly is the queen of sports romance!’ STEPHANIE ARCHER I could go on and on about this book but I don’t want to give away any spoilers - take my word, read it and let me know how much you love it. She’s the drop-dead gorgeous astrophysicist-in-training who ditched me the moment I wanted to take us from casual to committed. Yeah. Ouch. But when she needs somewhere to stay for the summer… well. I offer her my place.Us bisexual women face harmful stigma because of this trope and the stereotypes that it perpetuates. This book just perpetuates biphobia I was so happy this was written in dual POV! It really made the two main characters shine. They felt real and had depth captured through their fears and dreams. I always love a dual POV romance, I want to be able to read about both characters falling for each other! Cooper was just such a lovable character. So sweet, patient and understanding. The best dirty talker, and he was just such a lovable dork. Penny was also such a fiery fmc, loved how she handled her path to recovery from her past, and she was both funny and supportive. cooper callhan came in and delivered with the daddy issues, i really did appreciate the portrayal of being the middle child and feeling unloved or underappreciated. i feel like i never really see that type of content outright. his story in particular made me realize that even though somebody could technically have everything in the world (money, fame, love, etc.) their problems are still just as valid as the next. cooper truly struggled with his relationship with his father and after seeing the obvious effect it had on him it was beautiful to see the slow development and resolution of that relationship. even though he may be fictional, i wish that man all the best.

Enough said. He has my heart. He was so cute and just impossible to not fall for. His love for Bex was adorable, he was all-in from the start and wasn’t afraid to share his feelings. PDF / EPUB File Name: Breakaway_A_Coachs_Daughter_College_Sports_Romance_Beyond_the_Play_Book_2_-_Grace_Reilly.pdf, Breakaway_A_Coachs_Daughter_College_Sports_Romance_Beyond_the_Play_Book_2_-_Grace_Reilly.epub She's my coach's daughter, but from the moment she grabs me on the ice rink, she's the only thing on my mind. She wants me to introduce her to all the things she's been dying to experience in the bedroom. If I say yes, I'll be relaxed on the ice again - but if her dad finds out, I can kiss any chance of being captain goodbye. sebastian is a 1200000/10 book boyfriend. he was SO sweet, spicy, supportive, possessive and dominating when it mattered, and so protective of mia. a lot of the story is about mia’s bisexuality and how her family isn’t supportive of that and he doesn’t hesitate to stand up for her. his family and friends are also hesitant to accept her after she essentially ghosted him and he defends her every single time. SUCH an amazing book boyfriend, i can’t. I cannot tell you how much I appreciated that the conflict at the end was not a third act breakup and really, that there was no breakup at all. Our characters were pretty mature and whenever I thought we were reaching a situation that would normally result in some kind of relationship ending miscommunication, they handled it extremely well and not at all how I normally expect them to. It was refreshing and still kept the story interesting and compelling despite not having that unnecessary drama.

During the day: If you have a flexible schedule, you may find it helpful to take breaks during the day to read a book. penny, on the other hand, was just as charming as cooper. i personally loved everything about her. she was sassy, determined, funny, creative, and utterly romantic. every part of the relationship she had with cooper was unbelievably and undeniably cute. their ability to bond with each other as friends and lovers was so admirable. i loved how vulnerable penny allowed herself to be, there was still pieces of her that were broken from a previous relationship (and some other things in her life) and she decided it was right to take care of herself, to try to make herself bigger and better than before. penny's therapist had my whole entire heart, she was the best <3
